When I first heard of the word Brioche, I was really intrigued. So, of course I went ahead and googled it. Turns out, Brioche is a type of bread that originated from the French. This bread has high egg and butter content making it rich and tender to eat. However, we aren't talking about the bread, rather we are talking about the Bakery that is a “hidden gem” as described by a close friend whose opinion regarding eateries I value greatly. We came across this place on one of our random drives around the city. It is located at the Kobil Petrol Station on Ojijo Road.
So, naturally, we went there for coffee, and ended up adding sandwiches to our bill because they looked so yummy. The ambiance of the bakery added to the amazing experience. The place is usually on the quieter sides during the weekdays making it a great space to get away from the daily noise or even a nice change of location for productive meetings. It is also a great place if you're just looking for a quiet café to work from. This place would serve as a pleasant getaway for those who are tired of working from home these days.
They opened up about a year ago, so they are fairly new and have a good variety of food. It may not be as big, but hey, they got some good coffee! And the option for savoury and sweet pastries along with a variety of sandwiches, mainly the desserts helps their case pretty well! Sure they don't have a big fat menu and might be limited in options for certain items, but it is a budget friendly place with filling portion sizes. You can get a coffee and a sandwich for about ksh.650 which is justified if you are treating yourself. As for the portion size, the sandwich was pretty much my dinner cause it was so filling and was well flavoured and toasted just right! They have vegetarian and vegan options too, along with the non veg options which, of course come with a greater variety compared to the first two.
Along with my sandwich, I also enjoyed the vanilla iced latte which is the perfect mix of vanilla syrup and coffee. It was not too sweet but wasn't too bitter either. Additionally, you can choose to go either way according to your preference.
Overall, I really enjoyed my meal along with the coffee and the ambiance. I went there with my friend, and since we were the only customers at the time, we really got some quiet undisturbed space to ourselves that really got the chit chat going. A lovely place that I would definitely advise you to visit, if you hadn't guessed already!
