Dating VS Being in a Relationship

Being in a relationship is when you have agreed mutually to being with each other. Being exclusively with your partner only. whether officially or not is a different case entirely. Whereas when you say you are dating it means that you are seeing more than one person. Basically just going out on casual dates and getting to know people. There is no certain exclusivity that comes in dating like being in a relationship.
Most people feel that dating and being in a relationship is one and the same but it is not. They are two very different stages, as when you are dating it is not as serious as being in a relationship. When you are finally in a relationship, you are no longer looking around. As in you are no longer looking for people to casually date or get to know. When you can do nothing together and still be perfectly okay in each other's company, that is a sign of being in a relationship. It is a sign because that is you letting the other person see you when you are in a less than glamorous space. Like inviting the person over and maybe chilling in pajamas.
When you are in a relationship with someone then your priorities will change along with the dynamics you may share with the people around you. However, if you are just dating, the person may be at the same level on your priority list as your friends, family, and work. Due to this point you also are integrated into each other's social lives if you are in a relationship as compared to dating. Because when you are dating you are still most likely only getting to know each other. Thus only involved with each other and not anyone else in each other's lives.
Therefore, dating and being in a relationship are two different things due to the exclusivity and commitment that comes with being in a relationship compared to casual dating.
